HIMACS for the art world
HIMACS for the art world - Ludovico Bomben chooses the Solid Surface once again for exhibitions of new artworks in Milan and Venice
Following the success of the Between Space and Surface exhibition, held at the last Venice Biennale Architectura, visual artist Ludovico Bomben has once again chosen HIMACS for his new artworks on show in Milan and Venice until the end of September.
Ludovico Bomben's artworks are mystical iconographies inspired by ancient Western painting. These immaculate sculptures seem to have travelled down the centuries before landing in the modern era and redefining themselves in terms of form and materials, while preserving intact a sacred and contemplative language.
The white HIMACS blades exhibited at the 10 A.M. ART Gallery in Milan in the exhibition entitled ‘When Space Becomes a Place for Action and Thought’, and in the ‘Bello Mondo’ exhibition at the Galleria Michela Rizzo in Venice, are events in which the very essence of the artworks must be given free rein to express itself clearly. And it does so by means of reliefs that 'rise' out of the flat surface, or through the use of gold, of different intensities, as if to indicate a preciousness contained within the material itself.
With his ‘Autoritratto senza titolo – Omaggio ad Antonio Canova', Ludovico Bomben was among the finalists of 'BE THE DIFFERENCE... WITH ART 2022', a national competition organised by the Rotary Club of Asolo and Pedemontana del Grappa, which has been promoting the creativity and talent of young artists for several years now. This piece, created with HIMACS, takes its inspiration from a particular bust exhibited at the Plaster Cast Gallery in Possagno (TV) comprising a self-portrait by Canova, and which Bomben represents with bas-reliefs, highlighting the "stitch heads" using beads of 18-carat gold.
While matter is among the key elements in Ludovico Bomben's art, HIMACS becomes the medium through which the artist conveys his message.
Bomben has once again chosen to use this latest-generation innovative material in the classic Alpine White finish.
HIMACS is able to withstand intensive use in venues such as exhibitions or museums with a large audience, and is perfect for exhibitions of artistic creations such as Bomben's artworks.
This Solid Surface material is in fact resistant to fire, scrapes and scratches, and is very easy to work with and to mould thanks to its unique thermoforming properties that enable any shape imagined to be easily created.
