HIMACS: AdaptLiving

ADAPTLIVING, A kitchen for comfort

Custom designed for people with motor impairments, AdaptLiving is a kitchen concept developed by the SkillPoint Health Care Design Centre at Politecnico di Milano scientific-technological university. The project, created in HIMACS, also enlisted the participation of the Poliform Group. It is a truly multifunctional island, whose height can be adjusted thanks to the Ergoswiss® system, making the entire length of the HIMACS worktop accessible from a wheelchair. The island is divided into two work areas defined by the sink and the range, both of which can be reached from the same position, without having to move. The APPCore™ system developed by Tazzari Design is activated by means of a double touch slider and can also be used to regulate water temperature and flow. The module also includes a pull-out table made of Valchromat®, an innovative and ecological tinted panel of solid wood fibre.
